Sidewalk Explorers
A series of four seasonal 5x8” zines, this guide highlights ten plants and five trees that bloom during the summer season in the Pacific Northwest.
Each plant is accompanied by a watercolor illustration, helpful identification information, and fun facts. The nature guide includes a list of engaging activities to encourage deeper learning and curiosity, as well as blank pages to practice sketching and careful observation. A collaboration between two artists and a mom in Portland, this guide is crafted to inspire young people to greet their neighborhood streets with the same curiosity they might bring to the natural wonders of the great outdoors!
